Nella mwbqmitologia norrena, mwbgSkirnir (traducibile più o meno come "brillante") è un elfo che serve come messaggero e mwbwvassallo mwcaFreyr. Nell'mwcqEdda Poetica mwcgskírnismál, Skirnir viene inviato come messaggero a mwcwJötunheim per corteggiare la bella mwdaGerðr a nome di Freyr chiedendo come ricompensa al dio per questo servigio la sua mwdqspada.
Skirnir minacciò Gerðr con la sua gambantein, una mwdwbacchetta magica per convincerla a sposarsi. Nel capitolo 34 del mweaGylfaginning, Skirnir viene inviato anche dai mweqnani per portare loro l'ordine di creare la mwegcorda Gleipnir per imprigionare il mwewlupo mwfaFenrir.
